German chocolate pecan pie bars  🛒 Ingredients  For the Crust:  2 cups all-purpose flour ½ cup granulated sugar 1 cup unsalted butter, softened ¼ tsp salt  For the Chocolate Pecan Filling:  1 cup light brown sugar, packed ½ cup granulated sugar ½ cup unsalted butter, melted 3 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup light corn syrup 1½ cups chopped pecans 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips ¼ tsp salt 👩‍🍳 How to Make It  Step 1 – Prepare the Crust Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Beat the softened butter, sugar, flour, and salt until crumbly. Press firmly into the bottom of the pan.  Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven.  Step 2 – Make the Filling In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, corn syrup, vanilla, cocoa powder, and salt until smooth.  Step 3 – Add the Good Stuff Stir in the chopped pecans, shredded coconut, and chocolate chips until evenly combined.  Step 4 – Assemble Pour the chocolate pecan mixture evenly over the warm crust and spread it gently.  Step 5 – Bake Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the filling is set around the edges and slightly soft in the center.  Step 6 – Cool Completely Let the bars cool completely in the pan. For the cleanest slices, refrigerate for 1–2 hours before cutting.  ✨ Tips Toast the pecans for 5–7 minutes before adding them for extra flavor. Don't overbake—the filling will continue to firm up as it cools. Use unsweetened coconut to balance the sweetness if preferred. For an extra chocolatey finish, drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled bars. Chill before slicing for neat, bakery-style squares.
