Hope you don’t mind me adding some other considerations related to self employment and when to make it your full time gig. This is coming from a USA perspective, but taxes! You have to learn to calculate and pay your own taxes, including saving enough from what you make so that you don’t owe a bunch when you file. You also lose out on traditional benefits that a full time employer might offer like health insurance, PTO, 401k matching, etc. Those things probably aren’t as make or break to a young, healthy person with good family support, but they are definitely things to consider.

Something that I realised late was that I should have spent several months tracking my profit and loss and comparing month to month, when I started making fulltime it became very apparent quite quick that I was spending out way more than I thought on bills and supplies, I probably should have stayed in my job a few more months 😭
