The U.S. has a massive debt problem, and so do many other countries. When debt gets too large, governments basically have a few choices: Cut spending. Raise taxes. to the size of the economy. So the question I'm asking is: Could policymakers tolerate, or even quietly prefer, more inflation because it helps manage the debt burden? I'm not saying that's why wars happen. There are geopolitical, military, security, and regional reasons that matter far more directly.
