@asiaone: Changes to the Primary 1 (P1) registration framework do not, by themselves, lead to a more diverse social economic mix in our schools, said Education Minister Desmond Lee. Lee added that many other factors, including parents' preferences and eventual school choices, matter too. #sgnews #Singapore #Parliament #Education #Schools #Parents
MOE has consistently falsified social mixing achievement. @Ministry of Education (MOE) has never set aside 40places for unconnected children in every Primary sch despite such claims by 5 Prime Ministers and 3 MOE ministers 😡 including @Lawrence Wong

Social mixing?😡. Lee Hsien Loong declared at least 40places will be set aside for unconnected children during National Day Rally 😡. But @Ministry of Education (MOE) also refused to implement this

To Ms Gho, on 4 March 2020, NMP Anthea Ong already raised a very specific issue in Parliament: does P1 priority for children of alumni amount to discrimination by DESCENT. She cited Article 16(1)(a) of the CONSTITUTION OF SINGAPORE. It prohibits discrimination against Singapore citizens by religion, race, DESCENT or place of birth in admission to publicly maintained schools. @Ministry of Education (MOE) refused to answer this😡

Desmond swore to "preserve, protect and defend" Singapore's Constitution. Yet @Ministry of Education (MOE) continues to discriminate by descent in P1 registration despite our Constitution directly prohibiting it 😡
