African in Tehran, Iran 🇮🇷 These Iranian Kids Saw Me… Then THIS Happened 😳 What is it really like exploring Tehran, Iran as an African tourist? 🇮🇷🌍 #iran #iran #trending #fyp #pov  This was one of those days in Iran that reminded me exactly why I love travelling. I was out walking through the streets of Tehran, exploring the city and experiencing everyday life for myself before making my way to the famous Azadi Tower. As an African traveller in Iran, I didn’t really know what to expect before coming here. But during my time in Tehran, I personally felt comfortable walking around, filming and exploring. Then something happened at Azadi Tower that made the day even more memorable.  I randomly met this group of young Iranians who were incredibly curious and excited to see an African traveller in Iran. They started asking me questions. “Which part of Africa are you from?” “What are you doing in Iran?” I told them I am from Ghana 🇬🇭 with Nigerian heritage 🇳🇬and that I’m a travel content creator documenting my journey through Iran. Their reaction was priceless. 😂❤️ They immediately wanted to be part of the video. Before I knew it, everyone was gathering around the camera, smiling, laughing, giving thumbs-up and enjoying the moment. There was no awkwardness. No negativity. Just genuine curiosity, laughter and a group of young kids excited to meet someone from another part of the world. African in Iran, surrounded by Iranian kids at Azadi Tower, creating a memory none of us had planned. 🇬🇭🇳🇬❤️🇮🇷 These are the moments I travel for. But the day wasn’t finished. While filming around Azadi Tower in Tehran, I also met a man from Afghanistan 🇦🇫. Again, we were complete strangers. He asked where in Africa I came from, and we ended up having a long conversation about travelling, Iran, Africa and Afghanistan. He spoke proudly about Afghanistan and told me how beautiful he believes his country is. He encouraged me to visit one day and even said he would be happy to host me if I ever made the journey. He also explained that he felt Afghanistan is often portrayed internationally through war, conflict and instability, while the hospitality and everyday lives of Afghan people receive far less attention. I can’t form an opinion about an entire country from meeting one person. But I can remember how this brother treated me. He was welcoming. He was curious about my background. He made me laugh. And he left me with a positive impression that made me want to learn more about Afghanistan for myself. 🇦🇫 That’s the beautiful thing about travelling. Sometimes you leave your hotel thinking you’re going to film a famous landmark. Instead, you come home remembering the people you met there. During my journey through Tehran, many of the Iranian people I personally encountered treated me with kindness, love and respect. People approached me, asked where in Africa I was from, recommended places to visit and welcomed me into conversations. And on this particular day, even someone who wasn’t Iranian welcomed me with that same kindness. An African from Ghana / Nigeria. 🇬🇭🇳🇬 A group of young Iranians. 🇮🇷 A man from Afghanistan. 🇦🇫 All meeting unexpectedly at Azadi Tower in Tehran. 🌍❤️ Different countries. Different backgrounds. Different cultures. But for those few moments, none of that mattered. We were simply people talking, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. That’s a memory I’ll keep from Iran for a very long time. My experience doesn’t mean every traveller will experience Iran in exactly the same way, and it doesn’t answer every question people may have about travelling in the region. But this was my experience. As an African tourist travelling through Tehran, I personally felt welcomed, respected and safe during my time there. And moments like this showed me once again that sometimes the most powerful part of travelling isn’t the destination. It’s the human connections you make along the way. 🇮🇷🇦🇫❤️🌍 Be honest — would you ever visit Iran 🇮🇷
