I mean, you’re missing one key component here: the reason why certain clubs dont have many players in the top AFL paid players is because of outside deals that heavily subsidise their 'salary cap' deals.

A decent club culture helps. Both clubs have found the right mix and continue to be destination clubs. Good decisions were made with log term strategies. It ain't broke, nothing to fix.
