IMAM BUKHARI COMPLEX AND MAUSOLEUM • SAMARKAND • UZBEKISTAN Wow, what an honour to have visited this beautiful, newly renovated mausoleum in Samarkand which just reopened this year! It feels like it belongs in a movie, the mosque inside is so beautiful and the mausoleum space is so peaceful! Pro tip: skip the online guide tours, it costs £3 for a taxi there and the tickets for the life of Imam Bukhari museum is £15 (as opposed to online tour prices which are £45). The mausoleum is approx 30 mins drive from Registan (centre of Samarkand). At the moment the museum is a walkthrough with an English speaker who talks you through the interactive parts detailing the life of Iman Bukhari and how his Hadiths were created. Did you know he produced an additional 12 Hadith that still hasn’t been found to this day? So insightful and definitely a must see for Muslim travellers! #uzbekistan #samarkand #imambukharimausoleum #muslimtravel #islamichistory
