We don't give notices anymore, resign the position the same day the new job starts. If possible like already stated, use PTO for the first week in case you don't like it.

When I switched jobs, I used PTO, the first week of the new job. I heard that this happens. I hate they can just rescind offers turning people lives upside down.

I think what everyone is saying is don’t resign until you’re sure you have a new job and like it. Use PTO and/or FMLA to cover the first week or so and then resign if you like it and plan to move forward.

Soo ppl still actually resign before starting a new job ?? You supposed to use PTO at the old job to see if the job is a good fit, or work until the start date then quit .

I understand what everyone is saying. I just made the decision to resign because I had already accepted the new position and had a confirmed start date. The offer was rescinded a week before I was supposed to start. Stay tuned for Episode 2 I’ll explain what happened next. 👀
