As a guy growing up I honestly never knew that my presence could ever be intimidating for anyone, until it was pointed out to me by a girlfriend a long time ago. She said “you have no idea how scary it is being a woman on your own” and I had genuinely never even thought about it before. I’m now super aware of my presence with any female, if I’m walking behind someone I’ll either cross paths or wait a bit or just engage (if I feel like she has a really outward energy, if that makes sense). It’s such a shame that people have to feel like this, but such is the world today. Women deserve better.

I was in a taxi leaving a pub got home and made a cup of tea and there looking in my window was a man who had been in the pub. We hadn’t spoken a word. He started banging on the windows demanding to be let in shouting threats then telling me he just wanted a coffee. He refused to leave and I ended up ringing the police who of course didn’t come! I was petrified that he’d put the windows through. I had to call my boyfriend to travel 15 miles at 1am to come and make him leave. Luckily he managed it without having to hit him. What scared me most was the taxi he was in probably knew he was following me. My house then was back to front and to get to my grade you had to walk up a cobbled path fron the road, through a garden into mine. Drunk as he was he managed to find me. We hadn’t even spoken one word. The following day the police rang me to see if I was ok. 😂

I go on a walk most evening and walk through a little forest area (takes about 5 minutes to walk through) and I always check back at least a few times while I'm walking through. You are valid!

Honestly I hear there’s stories coming from women on a daily basis and people just don’t realise how exhausting it is even it’s not myself I feel the rage through the screen ! Stay safe x

The number of times I’ve been followed off my bus. So I walk a longer route & if needs be go into a local shop to mooch. Some men are such creeps. I have zero engagement too. Especially if they leer at me up & down & then say hello. Deep Heat is my best friend…

I experienced similar to this in a very brief window I was alone while travelling. Just kept telling myself I was overthinking. We need to trust a gut instincts more 🥲💔which really shouldn’t be the case… ugh
