i mean how disconnected from everything can you be? I’ve seen enough people through the years, overwhelmingly elderly, who pick through dumpsters, beg at interchanges, and sleep at void decks to know that at a certain point, it’s a systemic issue, not an individual one.

fr, markets be charging 10c for COLD drink. on top of that, theres additional 10c for the plastic. In ADDTIION, im forced to walk 3 blocks or further to RECYCLE my plastic bottle whhen there is alr recycling chute built into my block. make it make sense

the main reason is cause there were reports that when they rummage through the bins. They threw out the trash from the bin to the floor and didn't bin it after rummaging for the plastic bottles

the entire thing blew up cuz there was a father and son rummaging thru. While elderly doing this is an issue that needs more attention, U have to accept that some people that can get by, are also doing this to earn a few extra bucks that they see as “free money”. u might say “how come govt is pushing us to chase for free money to this extent”. Unfortunately that’s how every capitalistic system works. All we can do is find better ways to mitigate but there is no eradication to this.
