The storm is moving east-northeast at 8 mph and is expected to turn northeast, then north later this week. ⚠️ The big change: Rapid strengthening is forecast over the next day or two, and Isaias is expected to become a hurricane by Thursday. 📍 Current: 40 mph winds | 1004 mb 🌀 Thursday: Expected to become a hurricane 🇺🇸 Friday: Forecast to approach the northern Gulf Coast Heavy rainfall will also be a concern. 3–6 inches is forecast from far southeastern Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, with isolated totals potentially reaching 10 inches.
