@speakaussie: Down under, Aussies have a colorful way of describing the weather when the skies open up. A light drizzle might just be a bit of "spitting" or "spitting rain," but when a heavy downpour hits, you're bound to hear locals say it’s "pissing down" or that they're getting "absolutely saturated." If it turns into a sudden, brief torrent, it's called a "bucket burster," while a prolonged storm that turns the ground soggy is often referred to as a "real wet." If you happen to be out in it without an umbrella, you'll end up "soaked through like a sponge," leaving you with no choice but to head indoors, grab a hot cuppa, and wait for the deluge to pass. #english #speakaussie #australia #aussieenglish #aussie
