THAT AND in the book, when he wades into the lake to dispose of the guns, his mother's powder and pictures of him and Sejanus are destroyed, all of which he promptly throws out once he gets back to base- symbolizing further that he leaves all of the things that made him just a little 🤏 soft behind to take his father's hate with him.

Valeria🦇 :

“I think… You look just like your father Coriolanus” keeps me up at night

Audrey :

Yep, also goes with Tigris telling him he looks like his dad. Bc he’s decided to take on his fathers cruelty and anger

Casey☀️🍊 :

in the books his mother's perfume brought him comfort, and by the end of the book after Lucy gray is gone he realizes it's all soggy from being in the lake and tosses the ruined perfume, keeping the silver compact but ridding it of what actually mattered

Jasonn :

Snow died in the forest. Snow cameback alive from the forest💔 his situation was so sad man his own circumstances let his instincts get over him which Resulted In Snow and corio falling from grace. He was at war with himself throughout the whole book

Ivy Schariac :

The fact that he had so much potential to be a good person breaks my heart

1lov3bag3ls :

Wait omg this is so beautiful

tiana :

Having the book perspective and reading his inner thoughts will truly open your eyes to how self-centered and corrupt he already was. There was no tug of war between two sides of himself. No inner moral conflict. Every action he took was carefully thought out to suit his needs and to benefit from being "back on top". Toward the end of the book when he planned to go away with Lucy, it was because he thought he was caught with sejanus death. He also called her a loose end. He wanted control and power

mads ✪ :

not onoy that, when he gets back from the woods, his mothers compact has been ruined by the rain, and his family photo is ruined by the rain so he throws both of them away, only his fathers compass remains intact

izzy_1354 :

And then in the epilogue they say Snow instead of Coriolanus 😔

D🇲🇽 :

I think it was also for a practical reason; I think he was lost in the woods when he saw the compass. Obviously it has its range of interpretation, but still

Corey Maple ♈🌞/♊🌜/♌⬆️ :

and also him destroying his mother's rose powder from the compact

∘⋆eviee⋆∘ :

the scarf didnt smell like his mother anymore

Anger and paranoia*

thetitanwhoateerensmom :

Would u guys say that Coriolanus was also somewhat of a victim due to the conditioning and brainwashing the government imposed on them?
