That’s why it’s bullshit when people say that people are lazy and expecting handouts instead of working hard. We are fundamentally working harder than ever but making dogshit for it and you are treated like you are entitled if you want a livable wage

CEOs will never, ever agree to making less money so that people below them can make more. Its just never going to happen. We have to force the change.

I just did the math this morning. I'm an engineer who's been working since the beginning of 2020. My "raises" have only kept up inflation, nothing more. In that same time the housing market rose 50% in my area so my spending power has fallen significantly.

This is another reason we need to remove employment from healthcare. For one it hogs money the employers could pay workers. And for two it means workers have the freedom to choose jobs without worrying about their insurance.

That’s what I learned in college Econ class, government is supposed to step in when private business gets too greedy and unfair. Government comes in and makes it fair

Productivity and pay are not linked. If I provide a worker with a machine that allows them to do their job easier and more productively, the increase is mine. If, for example, a worker was delivering in a pickup truck 5 loads a day and I provide a bigger truck that does 10 loads a day, the profit from the increase is mine. The worker is doing the same job for the same time.

Worst part is higher wages and more worker centric legislation would actually be great for large corporations. We live in a consumer economy where most consumers don’t have enough money for basics. The more disposable income consumers have, the more they spend, the better corporations do. To me, that’s the most infuriating. Cause companies would see initial profits go down, but ultimately would result in higher revenue which would then make up for the lost profits.
