I think it depends on the people and the relationship. Regardless, I’ve never used the word “love” and not meant it. Whichever way you say it, there should be meaning behind it.

This is a GREAT QUESTION. I’m a firm believer in always saying the I before Love You, because a simple “love you” does not sound as meaningful & sounds flippant to me. I love you is much more definitive. I’ve always felt “love you” is lazy.
