@jillianlaudanocoaching: Okay, I know I’m a little late to the party on this one, but my husband and I watched Nonnas the other night and I absolutely loved it. If you’re a Vince Vaughn fan, you need to add this one to your list. It was funny, sweet, heartfelt, and just one of those movies that leaves you feeling GOOD when it’s over. And the fact that it’s based on a true story makes it even better. Without giving too much away, Vince Vaughn’s character experiences loss in his family and decides to honor the women and the food he grew up with by opening a restaurant where the chefs are actual nonnas, Italian grandmothers cooking the recipes they’ve made for their own families for years. The whole idea is that when you walk into this restaurant, you feel like family. And here’s the coolest part. The real restaurant still exists today in Staten Island! The concept has evolved to feature grandmothers from different cultures around the world, so depending on when you visit, you could experience completely different cuisines and traditions. Such a sweet concept and such a feel good movie. If you haven’t seen Nonnas yet, definitely check it out. And if you have seen it, tell me what you thought!
