Every season, every milestone, every little “first” comes with this quiet realization that it’s also my last time experiencing it as a mom. His first fall. His first holidays. His first steps. All of these little moments I’ve experienced before, but this time I know there won’t be another baby after him to do them with again. So I’m trying to soak it all in, the ordinary days, the little outings, carrying him everywhere, all of it.
