I'm glad you're using a magnesium spray because that's what I was going to suggest using a spray or lotion. Magnesium is great to use for muscle soreness or cramps, too. It's my go to instead of having to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

magnesium spray works wonderfully, we also used it on my mother in law feet and legs, for cramping and it did help her sleep

If she has any acid reflux, raising her head may help. I know my mil, because she was not active seemed to have some nighttime acid reflux. Raising the head of her bed seemed to help a lot.
