im sorta new here but what people like that dont realise is just because its says it on paper doesn't mean the other person will actually stand by that. plus if this dad was doing it for attention like many deadbeat dads do he WOULDN'T have proof and yet he does. im not sure what its like over there but in the uk theres services for dads for this reason 'justice for dads' is the main one.

Military spouse with a kiddo who has a dad not in the military. 50/50 is not possible. There are so many factors to consider with it. It’s so expensive to go to court and if the other isn’t willing to do anything it’s even harder. I got lucky and my son’s father and I get along pretty well for the most part. Courts are very messed up and jurisdiction is bs in my opinion. Hope you’ve found your kiddo!

My husband’s mom did this. Took him away from his dad and moved around all over the place and cut off contact. They reunited when my husband was 16. His mom told him all kinds of crazy stories that weren’t true. He’s 50 now and they’re extremely close.

Sir, I wish there were more men out there like you. I applaud you for everything that you have done and continue to do to find your son. My son’s father (also an Army Vet) hasn’t even tried to reach out in 7 years. Haven’t moved states, haven’t changed my phone number, still has access to me via social media. Declined to be there for my son’s birth, name isn’t on the birth certificate and the last I heard from him I was told to stop contacting him. Am I going to bash him to our son? Absolutely not. I will paint him in the best light possible. If my son wants to go look for him when he’s older, I will gladly help him. The pain that I hold because of what his father did… I shouldn’t be the one holding this pain.

Your doing the right thing, being understanding about Thomas’s feelings. Ive been through this when I was little, I’m a teenager now, it’s kinda still going on but not as bad. When I was younger I went back and fourth to my mom and my dad. My dad took me from my mom and wouldnt let my mom see me at all, then my mom ig got scared and when she finally got me back she took me to North Carolina, not for long bc my dad took her for court for drugs (WHICH HE GOT HER ON) so then I had to live WOTH my dad and his toxic wife for years until like I was 12 then I was begging my mom to get me back, she used all her money to take him to court, I finally went back to my mom, which is where I am now, my dad is mad he let it happen and barely talks to me anymore, my mom is the only one who cared about my feelings the whole time, so trust me you being understanding is the best thing you can do! Wish you luck💗

yo whoever says stuff like that like when my dad got out of the military i was a baby who only got to see him twice every other month it took 15 years to get 50/50 i wish this man the best of luck and to keep working hard

People have zero clue how difficult the family court system is in the US. I was a law studies major and planned on going into Family Law mediation, I stopped after two years because I couldn’t stand the fact that the system essentially rewarded certain parents for custodial interference. The very second you were no longer able to see your son, the child support should have been frozen until she relinquished your son back to your custody, allowing her to continue to collect only incentivized her to continue the parental alienation.

This sounds like borderline kidnapping :( my moms bipolar & she went awol & kidnapped me. My dad hired a PI and my uncle located me. I understand there’s some messy custody thing I’m sure but this just seems so hurtful for the child too. I hope you find your boy!!!

It always angered me to hear stories of dads who truly love & want to be in their kids lives & moms alienating them because my oldest sons bio dad left us & I was young, scared & it was hard & id of loved for him to have had another loving parent in his life. I hope you get the chance to have a good relationship & heal together.
