Ask them to expedite the surgery! Especially if you are in pain. Explain how much pain you are in and that it’s not allowing you to perform activities of daily living. Explain to them it’s an emergency for YOU. I’ve seen surgeons put cases on immediately for surgery after they see the patient. But you can’t downplay it. You have to advocate for yourself!

The Next 2 weeks is NOT sit and wait! Its prepare! Order the things you're gonna need and a BODY PILLOW and plan out a couple things you want to do in the days after (little paint by number or a halloween dollar store thing!)... by the way if you don't want to risk shipping delays you should start doing research and order now! With working out, I understand why that'd be scary but with how fit you are, you will bounce back like crazy!!! Replace the gym with arm workouts! I know its scary but your college professors will understand and everyone is rooting for you to have a quick and safe health journey ❤️

Found you from your CT scan video. The first image was all tumor, liver smashed in the top right and really smashed bowels because of your tumor. Things move slow in the medical world but ideas to expedite would be if you are experiencing severe pain/ constipation… inability to eat causing nausea or vomiting… those will likely move the needle forward on doing this quicker. I can promise you your medical team knows this is urgent, but sometimes offering pertinent symptoms might make them move things around to get you in asap

While my tumors are nowhere near yours in terms of limiting activity or the size of them, I felt very similar in the in between. I had imaging in an ER for abdominal pain and was told “it’s normal, you’re overreacting, go home.” And found out from one of my specialists days later as she casually read the report that had not been released to me in MyChart. My doctor may have dropped some expletives lol. My care was delayed, had to drop out of nursing school, and fought for MONTHS to get adequate diagnostics. The couple weeks after the initial finding were terrifying because of so much unknown and just wanting them out of me (I still have them all, nobody would remove them because they’re benign). It’s really so hard to focus on anything else, and your feelings are absolutely valid. Sending so much love your way 💕

You can start buying comfy pajamas for after surgery, plan what books or activities you can do during your healing. Maybe learn to crochet or something because you’ll be chilling while you heal.

So sorry sweetie. The fact that they use the words ‘up to’ means that it could also be a lot less than two weeks. I feel for you. August 27 we found out my husband had colon cancer and it was a roller coaster between that day and the surgery on September 24. ‘Hurry up and wait’ is the worst feeling ever. Praying for you for before, during, and after your surgery.

Make sure you tell them every symptom and discomfort at your consult and that you feel you need to have it sooner than 2 weeks. They may push yours into a more urgent placement if you emphasize the impact and pains.

I've just had a 24-25cm mucinous cystadenoma removed!! mine was also benign but had pockets in it so I had a full open abdominal laparotomy as they didn't want to drain it within me and wanted to try and get it out whole (they did!) I also lost my ovary and tube on one side, and my scar is approx 30cm if you stretched it out around my belly button!! I've really gotten used to the scar very quickly and hope everything goes well with your surgery 🩷

It sounds pathetic and pointless given the circumstances but I had a countdown with a small present/treat each day which helped massively. It was a good marker of passage of time and getting through each day right now DOES deserve a present❤️Sending hugs !!!
