If He knew it would bring sin. If He knew it would bring death. Why put it there at all? But here is the part most people miss. The tree was not a trap. It was a choice. Because love without choice is not love. It is control. 📖 Genesis 2:16-17 "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil." Free. Not forced. Not programmed. Free. Just think about that. God could have made robots. He could have made puppets. He could have made people who had no option but to worship. But He did not. He wanted a relationship. And relationship requires the ability to say no. That is why the tree was there. Not to tempt them. To give them a real choice. Because the same freedom that let them fall is the same freedom that lets you love. God did not want obedience without desire. He did not want worship without will. He wanted you to choose Him. That is the point. And here is the part that should comfort every believer. God knew they would fall. And He still made them. He still planted the garden. He still placed the tree. Because He already had a plan. 📖 Revelation 13:8 "The Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world." Before the world began. Before the tree. Before the fall. The cross was already there. So the question is not why God put the tree in the garden. The question is why He still chose you knowing you would fail. And the answer is the same. Because love requires a choice.
