The stack is the interesting part: inference runs in Australia on Maincode's own AMD MI355X GPUs in a AU$30M AI factory, with an inference engine they wrote in Rust. The honest part: in 2025 it was pitched as "built from scratch, totally sovereign." The July launch post says open-weight models are inputs to the system. No model size, no benchmarks for Matilda itself, no post-beta pricing yet. Worth a try if you want your data onshore. Test it on your own code first.
