This may be controversial but yes tommy is a nice boyfriend and stuff. But at the end of the day he was such a bystander to carrie’s bullying and I refuse to believe he didn’t know about it. That doesn’t make him a terrible person but sue and him at so much influence at that school. They could have both done more to help Carrie out. It was mainly towards the end when him and sue broke up that he was trying to be a friend to Carrie. I like him to an extent and it was sad when he died. But people like Carrie’s neighbor who was so kind to Carrie through the whole show doesn’t get any love for some reason.

i love that they seemed like genuine friends and they didn’t make it a one sided crush type of vibe on either end, they were just two kids who went through a shitty year and wanted to go to a dance together to forget their respective heartbreaks for awhile. also i found it so sweet that carrie seemed genuinely sad that tommy and sue were broken up.
