Brother, we love the people of the Maldives. The main reason Bangladeshis get involved in these problems is that many of them come here to work after taking loans of 500,000 to 700,000 Bangladeshi taka from banks to pay recruiting agents.
These agents promise them that they will earn 50,000 to 100,000 taka per month, with food and accommodation provided by the company. But when they arrive in the Maldives, they discover a completely different reality. Sometimes, they are not even given a job, and the agents do not keep in touch or take any responsibility for them. As a result, they face many more difficulties, including financial problems, debt, and uncertainty about their future.
Ordinary Bangladeshi workers are not to blame for everything. Many of them come here with dreams of building a better future for their families, but they end up suffering because of false promises and the exploitation of dishonest recruiting agents.
