I was told it’s all about what you could handle . And having a typical bed on the truck increases that #. Make it a flat bed and it keeps you in line weight wise when combined. . But then also . You are running commercial so that’s a grey area .

You also have to watch your drive axel weight. I’ve only got 1,000 pounds to play with over my drive axel with trailer empty.

Hi you can be over 26k gross. You can pull a 10k trailer with a 26k truck in most states. Think a U-Haul truck pulling a car trailer people do it everyday. Same thing as a class b they can only pull trailers under 10k. Essentially dot doesn’t care about 10k or less trailers
