Provide financial security from top to bottom. Be a deeply skilled communicator. Be emotionally invested at a level he was never physiologically wired to sustain, because caregiving instincts were built into a different design than his. On top of that, be the knight in shining armor — the one who shields her from harsh truths, who never runs out of strength, who never shows the strain. That is a 100% demand placed on something closer to a 5% biological capacity. So what happens? He learns to fake it. He gives the appearance of being able to do things he knows, deep down, he can't sustain — not because he's lying to manipulate anyone, but because the alternative is being seen as inadequate for a role he was never designed to fully carry in the first place. This is not a call to excuse poor behavior. It's a call to stop being surprised when men break under a weight nobody accounted for when the expectations were written.
