Eimiko shippers are currently saying that the ship is ok because the characters currently are consensual adults. So eimiko shippers don't care about the past or lore at all because it's not convenient to them. They think that conveniently Ei and Yae started dating recently so it's ok. As original EiMiko hater, I do still think the timelines (and especially English translations) get too messy to make bold statements. There is like smallest chance that we can actually consider Yae 'technically adult' by the time she met Ei (we don't know how age works for kitsune but we do know that they have childhoods, the story about Yae Miko enjoying back rides with Urakusai, or her treating Saiguu as older sister are canon). But even if she was already young adult, you can't separate the fact that Yae wasn't as mature, she didn't hold power or cleverness to be equal to 2000 woman who she is also supposed to worship due to Yae's heritage to Hakushin clan. There's high chances that if we look at the genshin story as something realistic, we can discuss religious grooming as well. Even if she was an adult, she was still in position of being more emotionally, physically, intellectually vulnerable compared to herself now while also dealing with someone who has status of God in their local church. Entertaining and supporting Ei is not just her personal whimp but also her job, seriously she had to grow up quicker and mature faster just to keep country stable while Ei's doll is stupid and to find the way to save her God from depression. Even now we can see that their dynamic heavily depend on Yae being supportive and positive while Ei is never satisfied. I can sympathise with Ei on certain situations but she was supposed to be a woman who fought wars, not someone who needs Yae trailing her to please her because that's what Yae has grown to do while isolating from her childhood friend and her careless life to became perfect Guuji and biggest supporter for Shougan cause it's her job that comes with a status
