@therapywithlindsay.v: The ones who work tirelessly to change their partners are almost always the ones who had to change themselves in order to be loved and accepted. And listen, I hope you find relationships in life that bring out the best in you and I hope you can do that for others too. Wanting relationships that bring out the best in you is healthy. Wanting to be someone who brings out the best in others is healthy too. But that won’t come from fixing him. It comes from healing the part of you that learned love had to be earned. When that part feels safe, you stop managing and can accept yourself first above all. You can feel at home in yourself, and the people around you start showing up as their best selves too.
