I worked for one last summer and he did every batch separate. Would could do 40-50 deer a day and each one, we would reclean and sanatize everything to do it. We did not want someone who left a deer in their truck for 3 days mixing their meat with someone who shot and brought us their deer immediately.

or, heard me out, just process the deer yourself. if you've got the time to hunt. you've got time to process the deer. my dad and I have always processed our own deer, takes us like 1.5 hours to do it at camp, then we finish processing when we get home in like an afternoon.

so interesting fact, I know this about cattle I do not know this about deer but I would assume it works the same way. you can actually sue a butcher for mixing your meat with other people's cattle meat. there's probably a bunch of reasons why from the fact that you might do grass-fed grass finish but they grass feed and also give grain they might put steroids in their meat you never know. dear I would assume be a little bit different but butchers should not be mixing meat like that there could cause real problems

get you a better processor. lots of guys do batch grind but most will keep it separate if asked or for a fee or go to a smaller processor that does deer individually

I worked at a butcher shop and we never mixed anyone’s deer with anyone else’s. Those shops that do are the ones that can’t make their money per customer so they have to do underhanded things to cheap one so they can have another pay. There’s only a handful of good places that don’t do this, and they are starting to become harder and harder the finein one of his videos he does make a very valid point if you just learned to do it yourself you never gotta worry about someone mixing your meat or stealing it.
