@_sammyadjei: 🏦 KNOW THIS BEFORE YOU GO TO THE BANK FOR FUNDING You buy shares in a bank on the Ghana Stock Exchange and expect profits, dividends and share-price growth. 📈💰 Then you go to the same bank for funding and say: “Eii, your interest rate is too high ooo!” 😂 But how do you think the bank makes part of the profits you expect as a shareholder? 😅 Of course, banks earn from several sources—not only lending. But as an entrepreneur, the bigger lesson is: 🔥 DON’T JUST GO TO THE BANK ASKING FOR “A LOAN.” KNOW WHAT TYPE OF FINANCING YOUR BUSINESS ACTUALLY NEEDS. Depending on your business and the bank’s credit assessment, you may explore: 💰 Working Capital Finance — to support stock, receivables and your operating cycle. 🏭 Asset Finance — for vehicles, machinery and equipment. Don’t necessarily drain working capital to buy long-term assets. 🏦 Overdraft — for temporary and recurring cash-flow gaps. 📄 Invoice/Receivables Financing — you’ve supplied a credible customer but payment is coming later. 📑 Contract Financing — you’ve won a credible contract but need funding to execute. 🌍 Letters of Credit (LCs) — particularly useful for structured international trade. 🛡️ Bank Guarantees — bid bonds, performance guarantees, advance-payment guarantees and other contractual obligations. 🔄 Counter-Guarantees — particularly useful in some cross-border transactions where another bank may need to issue a guarantee backed by your bank. 🚢 Import/Export & Trade Finance — financing structured around the movement and payment of goods. And yes, there are term loans too—but don’t automatically force every funding need into a term loan. Before approaching the bank, know: WHAT do I need the money for? HOW MUCH do I need? HOW LONG do I need it? WHAT will repay it? 📌 NOT EVERY FUNDING PROBLEM NEEDS THE SAME FINANCING INSTRUMENT. 🔥 Don’t just go to the bank looking for money. Go understanding money.
