@sittingwithlauren: We don't have to go in search of sensation, when practicing somatic therapy. Sometimes "feeling nothing" or saying "I don't know" is the information. And we can stay curious about that nothingness or lack of knowing. Why might a part of you want to keep you from feeling? How might that be protective? Maybe it's hard to find words, when you haven't been invited to get to know your inner world before. This isn't a failure, and there's nothing wrong with you when you don't feel anything. We don't have to force feeling or sensation. If you resonate with this approach, I'd invite you to check out my new mini course - Sitting with Dissociation: Understanding Disconnection, Building Connection, and Finding More Choice. Same girl same!!! I call it black out episode. Just the sober version. That was fun explaining that to my therapist today and then she ask how I still felt. But in the way you did. lol
