TheTruth :
Why is it important to have faith in Jesus Christ, why can't I go to heaven by just being a "good person"!! This is a question many people ask, and the answer is very different to what people expect. Jesus told us, we are "ALL sinners" before a perfect God, as none of us can keep God's law. The law is simply love God and love your neighbour as yourself. These 2 laws sound simple to obey ... right?, but are in fact impossible for any person to do. How many of us have truly loved our neighbour as ourselves??? ..... none. God the Father is perfectly righteous and cannot tolerate ANY sin. Only PERFECT people can be allowed into Heaven. Hang on you say, if the law is impossible to keep, nobody can ever be perfect, and therefore go to heaven. This is true, and we are all heading to Hell. However God knows we are imperfect, and therefore need a saviour. To this end, The Father sent his Son on a RESCUE mission to save sinners from Hell. God says if you believe in his Son you will be saved, it's effectively a "get out of jail free card". Jesus is himself God, and can therefore take the just punishment for our sins upon himself. He takes our eternal punishment, and in return we are credited with his "Perfect Righteousness". Therefore God the Father sees us as perfect and allows us into Heaven.

Jesus add them in too: Matthew 7:19-20 (KJV) “19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

Chastise, so God still rember my sins. But in Heb 8:12 he says he'll rember my inequities and sins no more. But he can chastise for those same sins. No you are lying to me, or God is lying to us!
