It’s messy and immature, but she’s 25, let her live & learn. I did the same at that age and taught more than a few men a lesson they needed to learn. Most of them have turned out to be really great husbands and fathers now 20yrs later and I like to think I contributed to that 😁

If he is friends with the ex he probably knew about the cheating, never said anything to you about it, then kept his foot in the door waiting until you two broke up and he could make his move. I don’t think he is a safe one to continue things with and you got your revenge. Move on now. This road ain’t a good one to continue down in the long term.

The friend isn't being "dragged" into it. He's choosing to participate. But at a minimum, make sure you are on the same page and that he is prepared to lose his friendship with her ex when found out.

I was with my ex for 8 years. never engaged or married. he was definitely mentally abusive and I just never realized until he ended our relationship. we shared a really good friend in the state we had moved to. I was a mess after we broke up and panicking because I had never been with anyone else and felt so alone and gross. the good friend ended up trying to comfort me while my ex was having the time of his life out and about. we ended up having a fling for the next few weeks until I moved back to my home state😂. I don't regret it, had a good time, and it built up my confidence to date when I moved back to my home state. 6 months later I met my now husband and I couldn't be happier

I’d say if you like him and the friend doesn’t care then go for it. End of the day you’re not together anymore and he cheated repeatedly on you so he didn’t care about ops feelings. So as long as friend is fine with it who cares what ex thinks

the friend is the asshole to his friend, you owe no obligation to anyone in that friend group anymore. This is the friend’s problem. You definitely need therapy for this revenge and as long as you can acknowledge it’ll be socially perceived as weird or a rebound you’re fine
