@christisthetrth3: #Repost @cleavetoantiquity —— Why Saint Paisios Refused To Pray With Roman Catholics #catholic #orthodox #Orthodoxy #christianity

M4RK :

The Catholic Church was given apostolic succession through the authority of Saint Peter, given by Christ.

ⲁⲣⲏⲥ :

The Apostolic Canons decree that a member of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church must not pray with heretics, which Saint Paisios fulfilled. This does not mean that we are not to love them or to pray for them.

Henry :

ridiculous moment I thought he was cool

spectrumy :

That’s some pretty weird logic… just say the prayer 🤷‍♂️

Nico✝️ :

Just wait till paisios hears about our lady of fatima

Beccaslife :

Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me the sinner

Never understood americans/orthodox.... my island is 50/50, half Catholic and half Orthodox. We have no problem with each other, they do their thing and we do ours. There's also no Byzantine Catholic, it's just Catholic.... they love our icons, iconography, prayer ropes and etc, they have their own versions that they love and use.... vice versa for us. We respect each others faith. [Heartwarming]🩷 Years ago, the Catholics went and received a blessing from the Pope to celebrate Holy Week as the same time with us. Them in their church and us in ours.... at midnight we all meet together in the town square and sing Christ is Risen together. Many families also break bread and eat together for Pascha/Easter. [Heartwarming]🩷

Saint Paisios was right and he was humble

IC XC NIKA :

I see story about two men full of ignorance and one full of pride. Do people really think if someone belongs to some church is Gonna be saved? Do people really think God looks what sacraments we did and not how we lived our life, how we loved God and others, in which condition is our heart ?

Maria W :

That must be why I've never heard of him. 🫠

Gutz Berserker :

Technically we're not supposed to pray with Catholics because their understanding and beliefs about God are different because of the filioque.

Nobody :

There is No Right and wrong - no church has the 100% Truth. Because only the church of Christ which is in Heaven has the true light in its fullness

jlsjls64 :

This is not true!

Torchman :

i love all Christians, especially the Apostolic Church. The CC, EO and OO and some Protestants are all Trinitarian. The Apostolic Churches all share most of the same sacraments. We should be praying together since we are all talking to the same God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It takes a lot of pride to think we are better than another. Saint Paisios was wrong for this. There are so many great Christians across the board that the Lord has worked miracles through. The Eastern Orthodox are known for this type of attitude which is partly what drove me back into the Catholic Church after years of exploring EO and OO.

Robert Pavel :

da dc la acceptat pe Bartolomeu

JHS :

How is this so? For both Churches are saved through the same process?

james cantwell :

That is fair

Kelly Parmenter :

He is close to me! We share silences🥰🙏💖
