The U.S needs to pull their military out of these countries. It’s not the first time I’ve heard of U.S troops harming women abroad. Especially since they fetishize Asians. It’s scary how many people do not understand we are there because the Yoshida Doctrine developed by Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida after they demilitarized for supporting Nazi Germany as part of the axis of evil. They have hardly any defenses and have not invested in it enough since WWII yet. Until they build a stronger military capability again the government will not want us to leave for as it’s a major security risk for their nation. Unfortunately self loathing Americans just assume we are everywhere by force rather than by being asked. Also, if violent crime was the real issue they would address the 99.1 percent of violent crime being committed by themselves rather than the 0.9% committed on average by service members over the last decade in comparison to local population. This does not excuse the heinous acts still and it must be held accountable. We must also must have a conversation that is not disingenuous.

I always heard that Mainland Japan doesn't really like Okinawan people or natives because of the way they speak or language is different from their's. The Marines know that it was a prostitute that the he killed and I don't think there's any denying that. The island still belongs to American Forces and they protest us for not doing the things that they are supposed to do and want to slow them down as much as possible.
