A standard is something you can maintain for yourself. That’s one thing that’s lost in translation

Financial discipline. I can make 30k a year but have solid savings due to discipline compared to someone who makes 50k a year but splashes their money without strong savings

I definitely hear you BUT at a certain age, wanting a financially stable partner isn’t materialism, it’s being realistic. Love is important, but so is financial security, responsibility and the ability to build a sustainable future together. There’s a difference between valuing financial stability and being obsessed with material wealth

Money cannot be your only “standard”; it is very surface-level and not what makes relationships withstand the test of time.

I think wanting an overly rich man to do everything for you is materialistic but wanting financial stability where you know he’s comfortable with his finances isn’t. If I’m expecting a man to be financially stable then I would also expect myself to be the same

I think when it comes to financial stable alot of people are misusing the word like it doesn’t necessarily mean Rich. I think the wanting Rich partner part is where your point comes in.

It’s when the conversation becomes your obligated to take care of my entire life as well as your own when in this economy u actually need a two income household . What we think we want as financially stable is not as simple and easy to attain as much as we want . This u need to be able to support my entire lifestyle and ur own and anything I have si for me is so crazy to me

Financially stable doesn’t necessarily mean being rich it means having a job and being financially responsible you could have money and blow it all on eadn lounge to some people that is just as unattractive as being broke

No it’s a standard sorry. It’s really hard to be on the same page if someone cannot provide for themselves! - we can’t even go out & make memories because you can’t afford it. It’s hard work. Proper struggle love man
