@taperly: What is Kona? The full-distance IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii ? and the main ways athletes get a place. A slot is a place you can accept and pay for. Race qualification, Legacy, charity entries and XC each have different rules. Checked 6 October 2026. Qualification details here describe the 2026 system. Always check the championship year your event qualifies you for. The Foundation’s current charity offer is for 2027. Legacy requires more than 12 finishes: read the official application-year table and yearly race requirements. A World Championship finish outside Kona does not itself exclude you.
