my favorite is the British use of "scheme" - it just means a "plan" there, as opposed to the US where it means "nefarious plan"

For us Brits; 'Chinese whispers' does describe that process of a rumour snowballing into something it never was at the start... BUT, it was also a children's game!
we'd be 5, all sat in a circle (either at a birthday party or in school) the adult/teacher would start the 'whisper' and the fun was the predictable nonsense that came out at the end 🤣

A = Use "a" before a word that begins with a consonant sound, not just a consonant letter.
An = Use "an" before any word that starts with a vowel sound, rather than just looking at the starting letter.
