My younger sister is on drugs, her daughter is 17 years, I’m trying to get her an ID as her aunt but home affairs said I must go to the social workers for a letter, which I didn’t get because I need to go to court for a court order and the father is needed for a dna, which can take 8 months or more, while the child cannot go to varsity and get a part time job because she’ll be waiting for an ID🥹

I work in NGO we deal with this everyday and this is one of the reasons you see lot of children are on drugs because of our system, children finish matric and cannot go to varsity because they don't have their matric certificates 😭

l work in community base project we encounter such cases every whereby children don't have certificate, some were able to finish matric and cant further their studies because they dont have id and they arw south african
