Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. 6. Drain potatoes and return to pot. Add butter and milk, mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. 7. Steam green beans in a steamer basket over boiling water for about 5-7 minutes, until tender. 8.
