Florida resident of 45 years. It’s astonishing to me that people don’t use rainx here. Good grief, invest in rain gear for your car. Good tires, wipers and rainx will get you thru this kind of weather.

Understand now how the uncontrolled development of Florida has affected residents. During the 1960,s and 1970,s un restricted development and canals were dug lowering the water table with out any environmental consideration of the impact it would cause . Drainage from the rainy season , tropical storms and hurricanes were never taken into consideration, instead local politicians lined their pockets with money from developers to bulldoze and destroy orange groves , farms and pristine land to build housing developments, strip malls where ever they wanted to causing today’s problems .
