@thechickiechateau: A closer look at one of my favorite chicken coop upgrades: our easy-lift, removable roost bars. Instead of permanently mounting our roosts, we built them so the entire setup can lift out of the way for regular cleaning AND completely come out when it’s time for a deep clean. The secret? A ridiculously simple cup-hook system. We can lift the roosts to clean the poop shelf, access the brooder underneath, remove everything for power washing, and then drop the whole setup right back into place. For everyone who asked about measurements, ours is 48" deep × 76" wide, with the roost bars spaced 12" apart and about an 8" rise between each one. Sometimes the simplest coop upgrades end up being the ones you appreciate the most.
