@tampabaytimes: Enrique Oliu, born blind, has called Rays baseball for the team's entire 29-season existence. Despite only being able to perceive light, he's adept at describing plays that, to the average observer, occur silently. The sound of the ball on the ground, the silence as the throw travels across the diamond, the slight thump as it lands in the first basemen’s glove, the ensuing cheers, rattling cowbells and stadium sound effects. It all guides him. Tap the link in our bio to read more about Oliu and his career.
