Encourage your kiddo to try out for different clubs! Especially at the younger ages. Mine is 14U this year and her third season and she was offered from two clubs and picked the one she hasn’t played with before! I left it to her 100% and she went with her gut feeling. She’s excited which makes me so happy for her!

The gyms/convention centers are always freezing. It’s a long day so be prepared and layer for the cold or on occasion a broken AC 😬

I coach club vb in volleyball and there is a lot of tips that I have! #1 learn early that some kids like volleyball but a lot of kids don’t like competition. #2 cliques and bullying normally happen when there is a skill gap on the team.

Club VB is expensive! Set boundaries early regarding what extras your willing to pay for at tournament. Example - I will buy 1 sweatshirt and 1 t-shirt per season (not per tournament).

Unless your daughter is naturally athletic and definitely going to make a D1 school…. You do t need to do nationals. Regional is just fine!!!

My daughter made Nationals.. I can afford the club fee but I’m nervous bout the travel expenses.. I want to ask her to go down to regionals.. she is a freshman.. I know she wants nationals

Some tournaments entry fees can cost $20-30 per person at the door. Bring your own stadium chair or lawn chair. They don’t check bags so take your own snacks

1. Invest in a good backpack for yourself. Your back and shoulders will thank you. 2. Every venue has its quirks/thing. complaining doesn't fix it......just roll with it. 3. Tournamenrt T-shirts get way more use then hoodies once the tournament is over 4. A thin travel blanket can be a pillow, a blanket, a tablecloth, seat cushion, shade provider etc. 6. it goes way faster than you would believe. from: 18s mom of senior who's daughter will play in college.. this is her 5th and last year of club.

Pack your kid some tournament snacks- but also pack you some as well. I almost passed out first tournament I was so hungry and thirsty. I forgot to take care of me.

Don't book your hotel through the club block. be willing to drive 10 or 15 minutes away and you will cut your hotel cost in half. we have 2 big tournaments in grand rapids I stay in Zeeland. cheaper hotel, free breakfast in the morning.

Walmart+ will save you on the road trips. Order those waters, snacks, Powerade, Alani, whatever u need to your hotel. Pack that backpack with waters and snacks. Make sure she understands she is on a business trip, you are not. Also have fun!!! Find the parent lounge that many tournaments have. Hang out in the hotel bar and meet people.

So I’m a player but something I would’ve like to know is that some girls will be really nice to you and then be really mean about you behind your back like if you’re bad also, most of the people go to Catholic schools or private school schools and they’re all in like friend groups I know my first year I was lonely because I was the only one that went to public school on the whole team

How expensive it can get, using credit card points for travel, the older they get the more time you must commit. Even in the summer.

Don’t make any plans when it comes to tournaments. Everything is fluid. Save urself stress n go w the flow.
