While appearing at the Guardians of the Galaxy panel with her signature red hair, Gillan revealed that she was actually wearing a wig before pulling it off to show that she had completely shaved her head for her role as Nebula. Gillan then tossed the wig into the crowd, something she later admitted she wasn’t actually supposed to do. She eventually got it back after fans in the audience grabbed it. Gillan embraced the transformation, later explaining that she found shaving her head exciting because she enjoyed physically transforming herself for a role.
