@maizimmy: This took me YEARS btw… So if you feel discouraged ever just know that you are not alone. Some of us aren’t wired to be tidy, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make it there (or make it to our version of it). Am I a minimalist?? NO, but my life and home are manageable and I feel like that should ultimately be the goal. Again, Comment “Declutter” for links to more, but high level of what I had on the screen of this video below: -Kon MAI method: This was the lazier/efficient version of the KonMari method I used to get started on eating the elephants. It used the framework of the KonMari method, but I removed the sparks joy & thanking items to replace it with what worked for me. I will forever be grateful to queen Marie for the KonMari method cause it got the ball rolling for me. -Hanger Method: a maintenance decluttering strategy where you flip all the hangers in your closet backwards. Through the year as you wear items you hang them up forwards. At the end of the year you can see exactly what you never wore and declutter. -Donation bin method: keep a donation bin IN your closet at all times. When you no longer like an items (or for kids if it no longer fits) toss in the bin. When full take to the donation center #declutter #decluttering #tidyhome #cleanwithme #momsover30 @HeftyBrands @Sterilite Corporation
How did you decide if you would keep an item or toss it out? My issue is I will start decluttering and find things I actually need but forgot about, like an unopened bottle of lotion, and I use lotion every day so I don’t want to just throw it out, but I somehow have two or three bottles of it because I don’t see it and forget I have it so I buy another one😅
