@adaliveslife: Have you ever wondered why Mackie Funeral Service feels a little more like home? There’s actually a reason for that. Long before families walked through these doors to celebrate the lives of the people they loved, this really was a home. The historic house at 35 Duke Street was originally the D.H. Warlick home. In 1963, Annie Mackie High and her husband purchased the property that December. More than 60 years later, so much of the character of the original home can still be felt in the front rooms, from the fireplaces and mantels to the warm parlor setting. Maybe that’s part of what makes Mackie different. It wasn’t originally built to feel like a home. It was one.
