I always felt bad for Lana because not only did she live and breathe for Santiaga, she lost everything she thought she had including the respect of her oldest daughter and family. It seemed like all of them used her for their benefit then threw her away. The only one who saw her as a mother, a woman, or even still human was Porsche.

I definitely think it was all generational. Her mom was broken and didn’t know anything pass her husband and looks and lost both and then herself. Winter was young and that’s how she was raised

I think when she got shot was a turning point but if you remember in the book she was depressed and slept all day. She also was on prescription medication which I believe turned into her addiction

I love it. I’m reading her sisters book “A Deeper Love Within” & I never read the book but I’m watching the episodes & you’re right it truly is sad. I would love a deeper story on her mother.
