Insurance agent here! YES! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY WAIT FOR THE TRUCK YOU CALLED! I have a client that we literally have lawyers going back and forth with the towing company to get there car released. It’s just sitting there STILL wrecked and we as the insurance company are running out of time to pay for rentals/uber for them.

literally happened to me when my car was totaled but i had to hit the hospital and not worry about it 😭😂 my insurance almost sued the tow company for holding my car without proper documentation on pick up , tried to make me pay $500+ and i got all my shit out and dipped 🥰

MY CAR WAS STOLEN FOR 2 MONTHS, JUST SITTING IN A LOT, WHILE MY INSURANCE THOUGHT I HAD MY CAR. THEY TOWED IT TO A SHOP THAT WAS OUTSIDE OF MY CITY THAT WASNT APPROVED BY MY INSURANCE. BLESS CALIBER COLLISION AS THEY TOWED MY CAR BACK TO THEIR STORE TO REPAIR IT FOR FREE🙏

Yeah this happened to me too. My car was totaled and the tow guy was pestering me about towing my car but I have Triple A so I kept redirecting the conversation while waiting. Finally after I used what he claimed was a big word. He asked if I went to college and I said a yes then he finally left me alone 😂 The Triple A guy explained later that those guys wait around all day to scam people for tows.

YEP - I used to work auto insurance sales at GEICO and I told people this ALL. THE. TIME. If your insurance company did not send the truck, DO NOT ACCEPT THE TOW. Often times your insurance company will tell you exactly what the tow company name is so you can tell other companies to fuck of if they show up. It might seem more convenient to accept whoever can get to you the fastest in the moment, but genuinely don't fall for it.
