No. They are nothing like children. Kids don’t come after you to destroy you and everything in your life. Children actually do have empathy and understanding on far higher level then a narc.

my husband and I always viewed his narc mom as a child and it allowed the abuse to go on far too long. this is a dumb take. they need to be treated as an adult and held responsible no matter what it does to them. the abuse won't stop.

No. This is what kept me stuck in the relationship to the point I’m now physically unwell. I saw where their behaviour and fears were coming from and excused a lot for a long time. There is nothing you can say or do to help them change. Even in therapy they know how to manipulate the therapist to always seem the victim.

They know exactly what they’re doing whether it’s childlike behaviour or not. The best way to treat a narcissist to actually walk away from them. Nobody’s got time for that.

well yeah, i said to my therapist in the fist talk that In don't feel like my age and rather young, mentally and in self perspective and I try and see others similarly and wonder if most people are just that, too: children on the inside and he said: that's actually not the case.
